Course Description
This skill set is for workers with existing experience or qualifications in community services or health sector roles. This course must be renewed every 3 years. Open discussion in the classroom helps students to separate first aid myths form practical actions that really work. Students should be prepared to participate and be challenged to problem solve asking questions, making suggestions, and trying out different ideas take your learning to the next level.
As skills are developed in assessment and casualty management opportunities are given to demonstration what has been learned, we offer a fun and comfortable learning environment. A balance of teaching and practice keeps the day moving so students are stimulated and active. We understand that students are individuals and not all people lean in the same fashion.
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. Specific licensing /regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/ state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.
