Course Description
This course provides you with an understanding of choking episodes, skills and knowledge to know what to do if they occur and the procedures for supporting clients with dysphasia.
This course includes the following topics:
- Identify signs and symptoms of dysphagia, recognise and take appropriate action for aspiration and choking
- Understand different diet consistencies
- Understand the importance of oral hygiene, identify strategies to assist residents and clients with their meals and drinks
