Course Description
In the Aged Care Industry, there is a common saying “If it is not written down, I didn’t happen”. Correct documentation plays an important part in the care industry. For example, the purpose of documentation is to be a legal document as evidence of care and treatment provided to a person, to identify resident’s status in order to document the need for care planning, implement and evaluation of care.
The aim of the training is to enhance the capacity of aged care managers and practitioners to deliver quality services to older people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. This workshop has been designed to assist aged care providers implement an inclusive approach to service delivery. This approach is in keeping with the Aged Care Quality Standards expectation that aged care services will be inclusive and will not discriminate.
The short course covers the following:
- How an inclusive approach supports the implementation of the Aged Care Quality Standards
- Principles of an inclusive approach to service delivery and utilisation of Inclusive Service Standards
- Implementing the Aged Care Diversity
- Framework and Action Plans
- Practical resources and tools to support the implementation of inclusion and diversity strategies
